What are Routed” edges on a wooden sign?
I am odering a sign for my friend wooden with black lettering and the edge part came out and i have this option of it being routed..what does that mean? like jagged and not smooth b/c thats what I want actually.
oh and its 12X4, so this means it is 12 inches long and 4 inches wide correct? Im totally stupid with this
Wooden edges can be sharp (a 90 deg angle) or they can be routed (curved). If you want the edges jagged and not smooth, then do not elect to have routing edges done. I have always seen wood advertised as: 2 x 4, which means it is 2″ hign by 4″ wide. Length is always put at the end, as : 2 x 4 x 8, which is 2″ high, 4″ wide and 8′ long. The first two numbers are in inches and the last number is in feet. Hope this helps.
