What type and scale of Tabletop Miniature Wargame figures are used and collected by American Tabletop Gamers?
Can only guess ACW 10 – 15mm and WW2 American 15 – 20mm.
But you know what thought thought? I need Edgukating lol.
I’d say it’ll be the 28mm minitures. That’s a scale of 1:65. I believe that is the model and scale of the more widespread and commercial tabletop games like Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Dungeons and Dragons, etc… Lord of the Rings tabletop is getting more popular in New York and California from my experience but that uses a smaller 20mm.
Personally I like 28mm as it is small enough to have a huge army on the table but large enough to paint some real good details and even script if you are steady handed enough. From experience I find a vast majority of young gamers play sci-fi, fantasy tabletops like warhammer and it’s spin-off games. While you see a lot of older more greyer people play vietnam, civil war, or napoleon era tabletop games.
