Stick Flashing

If I drill Holes in Flashing Will Sheetrock Putty stick to it?

I have a 3 to 4 in crack where new Sheetrock was put in and the house is off a little making the Sheetrock off a lot. I though of putting flashing over the hole and puttying over it, but just wanted to know it it would stick to the flashing?

For a 3 to 4 in crack or bigger make sure you have a nailer and cut sheetrock to fit in there then tape and mud. It is un-heard of to tape a crack that size. Would not happen on my job!!!
