IT IS THE PERFECT SONG FOR ME GUSSIE, for this reason: 2 and a half years ago, at 10:30 in the morning on Sun. June 11th, my brother while riding his motorcycle, (angry) and at very fast speed, crushed head-on into the ONE tree standing by the road. His birthday would have fallen on July 13th, the following month! On July 13th, I, still very bereaved and numb by the untimely death of my younger brother, bought a small cake and put a candle into it.Went outside to my deck, sat on my swing and lit the candle. Then after singing happy birthday to my late brother, asked him if I could see him ONE MORE TIME…in any form…it did not matter.
The candle was burning, I’d blow it out the moment I’d see a sign from Royche, when all of a sudden a single star which I had not noticed before, stepped out from all the others and shone ever so brightly in a pink and lavender hue. I knew immediately IT was my brother. So I sang happy birthday again, while the candle’s flame was burning the wax into the cake. When I finished and I was crying with gratitude all the time the star had listened, I blew out the candle’s flame – and the star retreated into the background among the others and began to move downwards into the horizon, until I could see it no more, for my garage was in the way. The other stars remained…to this day I KNOW that was my brother having come to celebrate his birthday with me…if only from a (GREAT) distance…he still managed to make his presence.
