Was there a championship for 9-ball pool in 2008 and is there going to be one for 2009 ?

I am not able to find any traces of the 2008 and 2009 WPA 9-ball championship ? Whats the reason these events are not happening ? When is the next event scheduled ?

They got ‘postponed’, but it’s more like canceled. It’s mostly a money issue from what I’ve heard, between the WPA and the sponsors not being able to put up enough money. There’s one scheduled for 2009 (Oct 31 – Nov 8), but it wouldn’t surprised me if that was postponed as well.
